About Dr. Anil Kumar Chauhan

Dr. Anil Kumar Chauhan joined the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Mumbai in 1993 after completing a one year post graduate training program in Physics from the 36th batch of BARC training school. Prior to that he completed his M.Sc. degree in Physics from Agra University and M. Phil. in Physics from Meerut University Meerut.

Then he completed his Ph.D. in Science from Mumbai University and carried out his post-doctoral research work at “Institute of Electronics Microelectronic and Nanotechnology, University of Lille France". He is working in organic devices and has published more than 100 research papers in international peer reviewed journals and has more than 120 conference presentations to his credit.

He is the recipient of IFCPAR and DST-JSPS fellowships for his research. He was the Head of Organic Devices Section in the Technical Physics Division of BARC and Professor of Physical Sciences at Homi Bhabha National Institute. 

In addition, has also completed Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application from the Maharashtra Board of Technical Education.

He also earned Masters degree (M.A.) in Yoga from K.K.S. University (State University) of Ramtek Maharashtra, in addition to Diploma in Yogic Education from YVN. He is a trained yoga teacher.

He has been teaching courses (“Generation, Measurement and Control of Ultra Low Temperatures”, “Solid State Physics”, “Methods for Energy Conversion and Storage”, and “Advanced Materials Chemistry: Device Materials”) at HRDD BARC, and Homi Bhabha National Institute. He also delivered 7 invited talks at different national/international scientific conferences and chaired 6 sessions.

He has expertise in Organic Semiconductors, Organic Devices, Solid State Physics, Material Science, Solid State Physics, Energy Materials & Technologies, Research leading to molecule-on-Si for nanoelectronics, Organic Solar Cells, Single Crystals, Thin Films, Instrumentation and Software.

He has served as Editor of two international journals namely Elsevier Journal “Material Science for Energy Technologies” during and Editor for the Journal, “Bulletin of Material Science”, published by Springer Nature. In addition, he was also Guest Editor for two AIP Conf. Proceedings Vol 1447, and Vol 1512, by American Institute of Physics publishing. These proceedings contain around 1200 peer reviewed research papers.

He was Secretary, Materials Research Society of India Mumbai Chapter for eight consecutive years during 2014 to 2022.

Recently, he has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty, Department of Atomic Energy, at Branch Secretariat, South Block New Delhi.
